David Hose is an internationally-recognized expert and patent holder in mobile data
technologies and applications, as well as a successful entrepreneur who founded and led two
successful technology companies through lucrative exits. Mr. Hose was senior vice president
and general manager, Client Products Group at Openwave Systems, the largest independent
provider of mobile data services technology. At Openwave, Mr. Hose led the product organization
with a broad portfolio of internally-developed and acquired technologies including: Mobile
Access Gateway (the industry leader), e-mail Mx and WAP browser.
Prior to Openwave, Mr. Hose was co-founder, CEO and chairman of SignalSoft, the leading
independent provider of wireless location services. At SignalSoft, Mr. Hose pioneered seminal
architectures for emergency and commercial location services through wireless standards
organizations TIA and ETSI, and completed a successful IPO in 2000. In 2002, Mr. Hose recommended
and architected the sale of SignalSoft to Openwave in July 2002.
Mr. Hose's career spans a variety of software and consulting management roles including
J&D Software, where he co-founded the company to develop a commercial class library for C++
programmers and Criterion/GeoBased Systems, an econometric consulting firm to the telecommunications
and government industries, later sold to EDS. Mr. Hose attended the University of California,
San Diego and holds four patents.
Gina Lombardi has developed, launched and marketed many of the technologies and services that
have been elemental to the success of mobile data, including QUALCOMM's BREW platform, in addition
to holding 10 design patents for CDMA mobile phones. Ms. Lombardi is senior vice president
of marketing and product management for QUALCOMM Internet Services (QIS). QIS is the QUALCOMM
division responsible for QUALCOMM's BREWÆ solution and EudoraÆ e-mail client and is chartered
with driving development of next-generation wireless data applications, technologies and
value-added services. Prior to the formation of QIS, Ms. Lombardi was responsible for development
and deployment of the core engineering and product management group that developed BREW.
Ms. Lombardi previously held the position of vice president of product development and product
management for QUALCOMM Consumer Products (QCP), the company's handset division that was sold to
Kyocera Wireless in 2000. At QCP, her team was responsible for successfully launching numerous
advanced wireless products, leading QUALCOMM to the No. 2 position in digital cellular handsets
in the United States.
She began her career at QUALCOMM in 1990 in contract administration and advanced through several
positions in legal affairs before moving into product development and management in the mid
1990s. Prior to joining QUALCOMM, Ms. Lombardi held contract administration posts with Sundstrand,
Rockwell International and General Dynamics. Ms. Lombardi is a member of the California Bar and
holds a doctorate degree in law from North American College of Law, Huntington Beach, Calif. She
received a bachelor's degree in business economics from the University of California-San Diego.
Ms. Lombardi holds 10 design patents for QUALCOMM CDMA portable phones.
Ralph Simon is recognized as one of the founders of the modern mobile music and mobile entertainment business in the U.S. and Europe.
Currently, Mr. Simon is chairman of the Mobile Entertainment Forum - Americas and president and CEO of The Mobilium Group, the leading mobile strategic advisory firm that guides US and international companies, networks and brands to grow revenues and market share from the application of mobile content, mobile entertainment properties and technologies.
Mr. Simon's proven expertise on content usage, rights, super-distribution, mobile platforms, copyright usage issues and emerging international mobile trends brings together skills acquired from a distinguished career in the music, music publishing and intellectual property business. He co-founded the successful Zomba Group and Jive Records, and was instrumental in developing Capitol Records'/EMI's new media business. Mr. Simon co-founded and funded the first US (and UK) ringtone company, Yourmobile/Moviso (now InfoSpace Mobile), and advises prominent global artists on mobile, including U2. In July 2005, he organized the global mobile layer for the successful Live 8 world concerts that contributed to G8 governments committing $50bn to reduce global poverty.
Mr. Simon is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and member of the National Academy of Recorded Arts & Sciences.
Tim Meadows is an expert in the development and marketing of media measurement businesses
with a track for architecting successful service offerings and strategic partnerships. Mr.
Meadows was a co-founder and executive vice president of products and services for NetRatings,
the leading Internet audience measurement and market research firm and provider of Nielsen//NetRatings
services. Instrumental in the formation and management of strategic partnerships with Nielsen
Media Research and ACNielsen, Mr. Meadows was also responsible for all facets of Nielsen//NetRatings'
marketing, product management, methodology and analysis.
Immediately prior to co-founding NetRatings in 1997, he ran an independent marketing consultancy,
advising companies on product and marketing strategy. From 1991-1996, Mr. Meadows headed marketing
at a leading graphics and document management company, Cornerstone Imaging, where he helped position
the company for a successful IPO in 1993.
Mr. Meadows' professional career has also included marketing and strategic planning positions in
numerous product fields from networking to computer peripherals and semiconductors at companies
including Hitachi America, TeleVideo, Advanced Micro Devices and National Semiconductor, where he
began his career in 1978.
He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in business
administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
For 19 years, Robert Tercek has pioneered new forms of digital entertainment. Now Founding Chairman of GDC Mobile, Co-Founder of MultiMedia Networks LLC and PeopleJam, a new company. Mr. Tercek has the unique experience of launching multimedia programs and services on every digital platform, including satellite and cable television, PC CD-ROM, game consoles, narrowband and broadband Internet, interactive television, and wireless networks. He has introduced digital programming services in every part of the world.
In 2006 Mr. Tercek co-founded MultiMedia Networks to provide branded entertainment programming via broadband to multiple devices, including PCs, TV set top boxes, networked game consoles and mobile devices.
Mr. Tercek draws upon his diverse experience as a programming executive, a television director, and a game designer. Previously, as president of applications and services at PacketVideo, he was responsible for launching the world’s first multimedia content service on mobile devices for NTT DoCoMo’s 3G network and established strategic alliances with 320 media companies, including motion picture studios and broadcasters worldwide. Earlier, as SVP digital media at Sony Pictures Entertainment, he established Sony’s broadband, wireless and interactive television business units, and was instrumental in the launch of Sony’s online game service Station@Sony.com. In the early 1990s, he was a co-founder of game publisher 7th Level. As a creative director at MTV: Music Television, he launched the pop culture TV channel in 30 international territories.
His credits include several of the most successful interactive entertainment programs, such as online versions of Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune and the Monty Python game series. Mr. Tercek has supervised the creation and marketing of digital entertainment in partnership with numerous major media companies, including Marvel Enterprises, Billboard/VNU Media, Warner Bros Studios, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, Activision, Atari, Hasbro, CBS SportsLine and The World Poker Tour.
Since 2000, Mr. Tercek has participated in raising more than $250 million in strategic financing for new media startups. He played an instrumental role in the worldwide growth of two of the leading companies in the field of wireless multimedia: PacketVideo Corporation and MFORMA Group. Mr. Tercek was chief marketing officer at MFORMA, where he established the firm as one of the top five publishers of mobile entertainment in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Earlier, as president of programming at PacketVideo Corporation, he launched the world’s first mobile video services in 40 carrier networks.
In 2001 Mr. Tercek founded the mobile game summit at the Game Developer Conference, and today he serves as chairman of GDC Mobile. Mr. Tercek is a member of the faculty of the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television. He lives in Los Angeles and works internationally.
